Sympathy is extended to the family of LIA Lifetime Member Sara Braasch Schmidt, Class 9, who lost her battle with breast cancer on Sunday, June 5. Many of you have stood faithfully beside Sara over the past few years as she has fought hard against the cancer. A memorial has been established through the Idaho FFA Foundation. Sara had actually planted seed money in the scholarship fund prior to her passing. If you need more information, please contact the LIA office.

Congratulations to Jen Root, Class 35, who received the U of I CALS Outstanding Staff Award for the Program Support Division. Carly Raska, Class 34, was also nominated for the CALS Outstanding Staff Award for the Administrative Support Division.

North Idaho LIA Alumni have been invited to attend the Grand Opening of the Port of Wilma Agronomy Hub Plant owned by CHS Primeland: The CHS Primeland Board and Staff would like to cordially invite you and the Board, staff, and alumni of the Leadership Idaho Agriculture Program to the Grand Opening of our Port of Wilma Agronomy Hub Plant in Clarkston, WA (only 2 miles from Idaho!) on June 23.  The event is an open house starting at 10:00 am with tours and vendor displays.  We will hold a short program, ribbon cutting and lunch at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  During this program we would like to introduce you all and thank you for your commitment to agriculture in the region.  The event will continue with tours until 3:00 pm.  We hope it works with your schedules to attend.  An RSVP is appreciated.

Congratulations to Kim O’Neill Anderson, Class 27, who was recently appointed to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Matt Voile, Class 24, has announced his resignation from ISDA effective June 15.  Matt has served as the State Noxious Weed Coordinator for the past 12 years.

Changing jobs in agriculture will be Christi Falen, Class 33, who will be joining the staff at WinField as the PNW Agronomist on June 20. Christi has been employed at Simplot Company for the past few years.
