If you are planning to attend the Idaho Rangeland Conservation Partnership annual meeting, you will hear a number of LIA graduates that are on the program: Dustin Miller, Class 28, Wendy Pratt, Class 35, Codie Martin, Class 29, and LIA Affiliate Member, Representative Laurie Lickley. The event took place on January 15.

Congratulations to Sandy Porter, Class 34, who was recently named, "Educator of the Year" by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. Sandy is an instructor at Treasure Valley Community College where she has taught the past 11 years. Sandy received her degree from the University of Idaho.

Governor Brad Little recently appointed John Chatburn, Class 16, as administrator of the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources for the state of Idaho.

Joe Anderson, Class 22, from Lewiston, was presented one of the University of Idaho CALS Distinguished Service Alumni Awards. Joe continues to work on his farming operation in the Genesee area.

There were too many LIA graduates to begin to count the number that were present for the Governor's Inauguration in early January. It was great to see so many LIA alumni who wanted to witness the ceremony and the processional of the governor, state leaders and legislators. It was a great reunion of LIA folks, and everyone seemed to dress the part and practiced their best etiquette for the events.

Do you like to golf? The LIA Golf Committee, led by Chairman Edie Nunes, Class 32, is looking for ten new members. If you would like to be part of this committee and help plan, coordinate and execute the event, to be held on June 7 in the Magic Valley, please contact Kendra Dustin at kendra@amgidaho.com or Rick Waitley at rick@amgidaho.com and we will pass your name along to Edie for the next conference call of the committee.

LIA Gala and Auction: We are starting to collect the names of individuals who will prepare a fancy dessert for the LIA Auction on Thursday, February 28. If you can help us out with a fancy dessert, please send your name to Rick Waitley at rick@amgidaho.com.

Congratulations to Terry Lee, Class 29, who was elected president of the Idaho Weed Control Association at their annual conference on Wednesday, January 16.
