Sympathy is extended to the family of David Hoadley, Class 2, who passed away on February 5. David and his wife, Phyllis, Class 3, were active supporters of LIA for many years. David farmed in the Caldwell - Marsing area.
 
Jyoti Sharma, Class 38, sends greetings from India where she is working as an app development manager. She oversees 100 plus experienced IT professionals who work in a variety of applications related to new electronic technology.
 
The Idaho Weed Control Association held their annual meeting in mid-January. Elected as board members were: Alan Martinson, Class 27, from District #1, Terrell Sorensen, Class 13, District III, and Cathy Ford, Class 26, representing state agencies. Alan is Latah County noxious weed superintendent, Terrell works as a Power County Extension educator and Cathy works for the Idaho Transportation Department.
 
Congratulations to Neil Durrant, Class 34, who represented the Idaho Farm Bureau as a participant in the Excellence in Agriculture Experience competition held recently at the 100th anniversary of the American Farm Bureau in New Orleans. Neil and his wife, Melissa, were also elected to serve on the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee.

Also on the program was Justin Patten, Class 21, spokesman for the Idaho Farm Bureau on the subject, "Membership Issues Facing the Farm Bureau".
 
Greg Branson, Class 23, was re-elected as president of the Nezperce Prairie Grass Growers Association at their 2019 annual meeting held on January 24. Greg is involved in a production agriculture operation on the Camas Prairie. Re-elected to the board of directors was Steve Bateman, Class 11, as a representative from seed processors.
 
Congratulations to Brad Griff, Class 36, who was named as the executive director of the Idaho Sugarbeet Growers Association. Brad will be replacing retiring Executive Director Mark Duffin, Class 22. Griff will lobby on behalf of the Idaho Sugarbeet Growers Association.
 
Blair Wilson, Class 11, was recently presented with the Silver and Gold Award from the University of Idaho. Blair recently retired from Northwest Farm Credit Services as the Idaho president, but he is continuing a contract with the association for some activities in Idaho. Also receiving the award was Crystal Wilson, Class 36, who is employed with Dairy West in Boise.
 
Congratulations to Doug Robison, Class 29, who was named Idaho president of Northwest Farm Credit Services. Doug will continue to live in Twin Falls as he oversees Idaho operations for NWFCS.
 
Congratulations to Kenny Rounds, Class 38, and his wife, Kelsi, on the birth of Taysi Lou Rounds on January 31. Taysi joins an older brother in the family.
 
Richard Kunau, Class 29, was elected as treasurer of the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts in the fall and just recently completed a trip on behalf of the Association to Washington, D.C., where he had the chance for a face-to-face meeting with USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue.
 
Recently appointed to the University of Idaho CALS Dean's Advisory Board were the following: Blair Wilson, Class 11, Katie Mosman, Class 39, Laura Wilder, Class 38, and Russ Zenner, Class 3. The advisory board serves to offer direction and input to the dean on the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences projects and activities.
 
Teri Murrison, affiliate member, served as the chairman of the 2019 Idaho Ag Summit.
