It was a pleasure to have Amanda Crump, Class 23, visit the AMG office last week. Amanda is the new Director of the Western Integrated Pest Management Center located in Sacramento, CA. At the time Amanda went through LIA, she was a member of the staff at U of I CALS.
Travis Jones, Class 28, has been nominated by U of I CALS and selected to serve as a member of the U of I Alumni Board. Travis is currently working for NIKE Government Affairs in Portland, OR. Alan Hansten, Class 36, is pleased to announce that daughter Gretchen, 2016-2017 Idaho FFA President, has been selected by the Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association for a college scholarship. Gretchen plans to attend U of I and major in Agriculture Education and Agribusiness. Kendra Dustin, Class 32, LIA Fund Development Director, is in Idaho this week making contacts on behalf of the LIA Foundation. Kendra lives in Tennessee. Have you checked out the LIA Facebook page? If not, you are missing out on another great source of LIA news. Please take pictures any time you have LIA graduates in attendance at various events. Send the pictures and a short caption to Nic Gibson, webmaster at [email protected]. If you have not been to the Facebook page, check it out today - you might see some familiar faces! There are 900 plus alumni so they may show up just anywhere. Our new membership year started July 1. To pay your 2016-17 membership dues, go to the LIA website - www.leadershipidahoag.org - click on “Alumni” and then “Membership Dues”; follow instructions. Alumni membership dues have remained the same at $50.00 or Lifetime for $1000.00. If you prefer, you may also print and use the attached form to pay your membership dues. Friday, July 22, is the deadline to send us your current contact information for the LIA Directory. We’ve already heard from almost 200 of you - so only 700 more of you need to follow the instructions below:
Thanks for the great response to our earlier email blast for generational pictures. The pictures we’ve received so far have caused a mixture of emotions from laughter to tears. We are looking for pictures of LIA alumni in generational shots, showing life in agriculture – any combination of grandparents, parents, children, 3-4 generations when possible. Email your pictures to Rick at [email protected]. Please also provide us identification of those in the pictures. Keep ‘em coming! Watch your mail after August 1 for the sign up for the Food Producers of Idaho Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Pavilion at the Western Idaho Fair and the Twin Falls County Fair. We will be mailing invitations to all LIA alumni to serve as volunteers.
