Congratulations to Alex Reed, Class 35, and his wife, Leah, who were recently elected as District 3 Young Farmers & Ranchers chairmen for the Idaho Farm Bureau. District 3 includes the counties of Blaine, Camas, Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, Twin Falls, Cassia, and Minidoka.
Wedding bells rang for Daniel Stenbakken, Class 34, and his bride, Mirenda, on February 13. Daniel works for CHS Primeland in the area of Agronomy Sales. Crystal Wilson, Class 36, will provide leadership to the Idaho Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics as the President-elect. Crystal works for the Idaho Dairy Council. Congratulations, Crystal! At the 2016 LIA Annual Meeting, we said goodbye to a number of trustees who were retiring from the board: Matt Gellings, Class 19; Debra Ausman, Class 19; Don Dixon, Class 15; Pat Purdy, Class 30; Nathan Riggers, Class 12; and Pattie Jo Courtney, Class 29. We also welcomed new trustees: Rosana Rieth, Class 36; Randall Jayo, Class 35; and Aric Frostenson, Class 35. WE WENT OVER THE TOP with the 2016 Auction, receiving more than $103,600! Thanks to the auction committee, Class 36, alumni, and friends who helped to make the Auction such a success. Class 36 set a new standard for an auction class prize with their lawn package, which included a riding lawnmower. It was well displayed, along with many other products provided by Class 36. The committee sold a total of 150 tickets for $50 each. The winner of the class prize was one of our own alumni – Heather Tiel-Nelson, Class 24. Congratulations!!! It was announced at the Auction that Blair Wilson, Class 11, had been named to the Founder’s Club. Blair serves as Idaho President of Northwest Farm Credit Services, based in Nampa. Blair has been with Farm Credit since 1979 in a variety of leadership roles. Family and friends joined Blair at the Founder’s table for the celebration event.
