Congratulations to Cevin Jones, Class 15, on his April 29 marriage, to Jody. Cevin and Jody will continue to reside in Eden.
Kyle Wangemann, Class 36, was recently named by the LIA Trustees as co-chairman of the LIA Auction Committee, joining the leadership team of Kyle Woods, Class 32, and Neil Durrant, Class 34. Drew Eggers, Class 12, and his wife, Deb, are celebrating with their daughter, Sarah Quilici, who was named Superintendent of Catholic Schools, effective August 1. Dan Whiting, Class 22, has been named Director of Communications and Government Relations for the National Fragile X Foundation. Fragile X is a genetically passed-on intellectual and development disability. Dan, his wife, Sunshine, and their four children live outside of Washington, D.C. Congratulations to Derek Schneidmiller, Class 33, for his promotion to Credit and Finance Manager for CHS Primeland. Derek has worked for Primeland for the past seven years and will be relocating to the company headquarters in Lewiston. Aric Frostenson, Class 35, and his wife, Michelle, are excited to report that their daughter, Kathryn, has been awarded one of the Idaho Governor's Cup Scholarships. Kathryn plans to enroll at the U of I this fall and major in biological engineering. Kathryn will receive the scholarship in a special ceremony at the Capitol on June 1. NWFC Services has a number of local advisory boards across the state. Several LIA alumni are members of these advisory boards, including: Ron Elkin, Class 14; Ray Matsuura, Class 21; Ritchey Toevs, Class 2; and Pete Wittman, Class 26. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eric Beck, Class 12, who on Easter Sunday was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The following Thursday he had surgery at Huntsman in Salt Lake. Eric is currently having chemo and radiation treatments, while at the same time, physical therapy to regain the use of his right leg and arm. Eric's son, Cortney, Class 34, and his brother-in-law will handle the Beck farming operation in Rigby while Eric is recovering. Election of LIA Trustees, Officers, and Advisory Board members will be handled electronically this year. Following the LIA Trustee meeting on May 22, LIA Lifetime and Annual Members will be sent a member code to the website that will allow them to vote for the slate of nominees. New Trustees, Officers, and Advisory Board members will take office on July 1, 2017. Be sure you have the LIA Golf Tournament on your calendar for Monday, July 10.
