I trust you had a safe and enjoyable Easter weekend given our current conditions we are dealing with as a society. Thanks to those who joined the LIA Alumni call last Thursday, April 9. We heard some excellent presentations and updates on the impact of COVID-19 on businesses, commodities and individuals in our state. We were not aware that there was a ceiling on our subscription to Zoom. We have been working with Zoom since that call to raise our limit from 100 to a much larger number to allow more participants on the call this next week. A ways into the April 9 session, it was requested that we record the presentations and share them with you. We immediately hit record and my apology for not having the information shared by Cooper Norman that was so valuable and the start of Doug Robison's presentation. You can find the remainder of the presentation at this link:
4/9/2020 LIA MEETING RECORDING We are scheduled for our third call this week on Thursday, April 16. We are honored to have Governor Brad Little join us to answer questions and to share his perspective related to Idaho's battle against COVID-19. NOTE: If you have specific questions that you would like to have us ask the Governor, please submit those by 5:00 on Tuesday, April 14 so we can get them to the Governor for his preparation. We also plan to have updates from the following: Doug Robison, Northwest Farm Credit Services - economic and global perspective Shawn Boyle, Idaho Grower Shippers Association - on potato contracts in Idaho and the impact of COVID-19 on the potato industry Rep. Laurie Lickley, personal experience related to coronavirus We will be recording the entire session (1 hour) and will make that available as soon as possible. The Governor's stay-at-home declaration is complete on Wednesday, April 15. We do anticipate prior to that the Governor giving additional information related to how Idaho will handle the current situation going forward. His visit with us on Thursday should be very timely. I think we all recognize that more pressing issues could take a priority over the Governor joining us on Thursday morning but at this time it is on his schedule. Call-in information has been sent via email to LIA Alumni. ************************************************************************** Let me remind you to secure your absentee ballot in preparation for the Primary election on May 19.
