Congratulations to Adam Jensen, Class 32, on his promotion to Vice President of Idaho AgCredit, effective January 1, 2015, with responsibility for the Blackfoot, American Falls and Twin Falls locations. Adam has worked for Idaho AgCredit since 2007 as the American Falls Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President.
Congratulations to Dana Wood, Class 33, on his promotion to American Falls Branch Manager of Idaho AgCredit, effective January 1, 2015. Dana has worked for Idaho AgCredit since 2008, most recently as a Loan Officer. If you received a Christmas card from Simplot Company, you might have enjoyed a great winter scene of an old Simplot truck and some land leveling equipment. The photo taken for the card was from our very own Darcy Helmick, Class 32. Darcy works for the Land & Livestock Division of Simplot. Tom Mosman, Class 9, has been recently elected the new Farm Bureau President for Clearwater/Lewis Counties. Justin Reynolds, Class 33, has been hired by R & G Potatoes, American Falls, as the new Agri-Business Manager. Justin joins Scott Stanger, Class 22, who serves as CFO of R & G Potatoes, a company which has made a significant financial investment in LIA in recent years. Something new happened in Public Speaking during the Pocatello Session! In the past we have used ag teachers - current and retired - to assist with the small group activity, but the restrictions in schools have made it more difficult to do that. For Class 35, Mark Pratt, Class 11, served as the coach supervisor and other LIA alumni assisted. Our thanks to those who helped: Justin Patten, Class 21 Janice Stimpson, Class 17 Scott Stanger, Class 22 Derek Reed, Class 31 Travis Lammers, Class 34 Blake Johnson, Class 34 Brenda Waters, Class 20, has recently been named to lead the National Park Service facility – William Howard Taft National Historic Site - at Garfield, Arkansas. Brenda began her assignment on January 11, 2015. When Brenda participated in LIA she served as Idaho Noxious Weed Coordinator at the Department of Agriculture. Class 35 had exciting news on their final day in the Twin Falls Session! Alex Reed, member of Class 35, and his wife, Leah, welcomed their new baby daughter, Lela, just about the time the LIA Class was wrapping up their closing comments at noon in Twin Falls. Dan Whiting, Class 22, and wife, Sunshine, had a new Christmas present for children Amelia and Wyatt – Eleanor Louella Whiting born on December 19, weighing 10.1 lbs. and 21” long. Dan works for ADG Creative in the Washington, DC area. Job Employment Opportunity: I recently spoke with Alforex Seed Company about some job opportunities. They had heard of LIA and felt that we may have the type of graduates they are looking for.
