Congratulations to Mike Wilkins, Class 40, who was selected as one of the recipients of a Governor’s Award for Excellence in Agriculture. Mike will be recognized at the 2026 Idaho Ag Summit in February. Mike has been an active leader in the grain industry. Mike farms in the Rupert area. Mike was recognized in the area of Marketing Innovation.
Congratulations to the following who had successful elections on November 4: Terry Jones, Class 21, reelected to the Emmett School Board; Jason Brown, Class 42, re-elected to the Twin Falls City Council; Nathan Murray, Class 44, elected to the Twin Falls City Council; Dan Johnson, Class 14, re-elected Lewiston Mayor; and Nic Gibson, Class 37, re-elected to the Meridian Cemetery Board. We have recently learned that Pat Momont, Class 18, retired from his position as District Director for U of I CALS Extension Service in April of 2025. Pat resides in Caldwell. Sympathy is extended to Roger Clark, Class 13, on the recent passing of his father-in-law and to Adam Clark, Class 38, on the passing of his grandfather. The Clarks farm in the Menan, Idaho area in eastern Idaho. Roger serves as a Jefferson County commissioner and Adam as Chairman of the Board for Valley Wide Cooperative. Erik Olson, Class 38, earned 3rd place in the nation for his winter wheat yields this year. He has been invited to attend the Commodity Classic in February in San Antonio where he will be recognized. He won this same award in 2022 when he placed fourth in the nation. Erik and his wife, Cassie, farm in the Bonners Ferry area. The LIA International Trip to Ireland was deemed a huge success by those who participated. The following LIA alumni were engaged in the trip:
Several of the alumni took guests with them on the trip. The 12 day excursion included tours of farms and agribusinesses. The group traveled around 900 miles in a large circle of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland learning about the culture, the people, the history, and the politics of the countries.
